  1. Power-QWK Mail Packet Processor

  3. The Mail Packet Processor's actions are mainly automatic.
  4.  
  5. Depending upon how you have configured Power-QWK, however, the
  6. Processor may have to pause occasionally to ask you whether to
  7. proceed with some action.
  8.  
  9. For instance, if you have not configured auto-processing of .QWK
  10. packets then, whenever Power-QWK detects that a new mail packet
  11. is waiting to be processed in your download directory, it will
  12. ask the question
  13.  
  14. Add xxxxxxxx.QWK to message base? (Y)es (N)o (D)elete
  15.  
  16.    If you answer Y then the named .QWK mail packet will be
  17.    unpacked and applied to the message base applicable to the
  18.    BBS of origin of the packet, as indicated in the CONTROL.DAT
  19.    file within the packet.

  21.    If you answer N then Power-QWK ignores the named packet and
  22.    moves on to the next one (if any) waiting to be processed in
  23.    your download directory.

  25.    If you answer D then Power-QWK asks you for confirmation
  26.    before deleting the named packet and moving on to the next
  27.    one.
  28.  
  29. When Power-QWK finishes processing a mail packet, it's actions
  30. once again depend on how you have configured the package.

  32. If you have told Power-QWK to auto-delete used .QWK packets then
  33. the current packet is deleted and processing continues with the
  34. next new packet.

  36. If you have asked for used packets to be renamed then, if you
  37. have also configured auto-processing of .QWK packets, then
  38. Power-QWK renames the current packet and moves on to the next,
  39. otherwise, Power-QWK displays the Rename Mask for confirmation
  40. before renaming the packet.

  42. For more information on Rename Masks, switch off auto-delete
  43. in Power-QWK Configuration Manager and then, when asked for
  44. a Rename Mask, press F1 for Help.
